Gym-jacking

I cancelled my membership to the Y about a month ago. With yoga classes and an abundance of workout machinery at home, it just wasn’t economical to pay the extra $45 a month.

However…because Noel is in the Navy, HE gets a free membership. He’s also on the Navy’s recreational basketball team and their games are at the Y. They had a game this morning so I decided to tag along while wearing an outfit that was “workout appropriate, but not glaringly obvious that I plan to use your facility.” Stealth.

Here’s the workout I got in:

  • 2 miles (un-timed) on the indoor track, run/walk (yes…RUN walk). Started with 5 laps walking then alternated one lap running one walking for about 15-20 minutes.

3 sets each of the following:

  • 12 bicep curls (8lbs)
  • 12 overhead tricep extensions (10lbs)
  • 12 side arm raises (3lbs)
  • 12 front arm raises (8lbs)
  • 25 Russian twists w/ball (6lbs)
  • 25 crunches

After lifting, sprinted a lap to the track exit…

Like a boss.
